Little Sister Sky and Big Sister Sam have been matched since November of 2021.

If you ask anyone who knows Little Sister Sky, they will say that she has become a whole new kid since being matched with Sam. Mom described Sky as being shy, reserved, and lacking self-confidence but now Mom says Sky is beaming with confidence, she takes pride in her appearance and is much more outgoing. Sam and Sky have been described by many as the perfect match. Sam has made such an impact on Sky by encouraging her and helping her see her true potential.

Sky struggled a lot with school before being matched with Sam. Sky would miss a lot of school days and not turn in her work but since being matched with Sam, Sky has developed a drive to want to do well.

Sky even asks Sam if they can go to the library to work on projects and school work together. Sam recently told us that Sky is now in advanced science! Sam said that she and Sky talk about going to college and how Sky has to do well in school now so that eventually she can get scholarships to help her go anywhere she wants. Sam said it has been a big motivator for Sky and now she wants to do her best and actually enjoys going to school. Sam said she was so proud of Sky for how far she has come. Even Sky’s teachers told Sky how proud they were of her!

Sky says the best thing about having a Big Sister is having someone she can talk to about anything and someone she knows she can go out with and always have fun. Sam is proud beyond words of how far Sky has come and how great of a person she is becoming. We are so excited to see what is next in store for the two of them!
